Introducing Fairhaven Wealth!

I've worked for many years in the legal and financial services industries. Most recently I've worked as a lawyer providing specialist trust services and asset planning advice.

I have for many years worked with financial advisers. I've had the privilege of working with hundreds of advisers, and have in many ways acted as an "adviser of advisers". I've pursued the same qualifications that advisers have and maintained my knowledge so that I can understand what they do and speak their language.

Reading this blog, you can see how passionate I am about good quality financial advice.

And now, I throw my hat in the ring.

I have established a financial advice business, Fairhaven Wealth, to provide independent, unbiased, unconflicted, high quality advice to clients in Christchurch, to help them achieve their financial goals and manage their risks.

I have taken pains to ensure that Fairhaven Wealth's business model ensures that my interests are aligned with my clients, and with providing the highest quality financial advice.

The only fees that we charge are fees that we receive from clients. We charge fixed fees, negotiated up front with clients. We don't receive commission and we don't receive income that is based as a percentage of investments.

The website for Fairhaven Wealth is www.fairhavenwealth.co.nz. You can contact me to discuss the services that we offer at sonnie@fairhavenwealth.co.nz or by calling me on 021 0269 2213.

I will continue to operate the New Zealand Wealth and Risk blog separately. This gives me a greater degree of flexibility to discuss topics that aren't 100% related to the services that Fairhaven Wealth offers.

Sonnie Bailey

Sonnie is the founder and principal of Fairhaven Wealth.

Before founding Fairhaven Wealth, Sonnie worked in the legal and financial services industries for over a decade.

Sonnie first became involved with financial advice as a specialist financial services lawyer. For many years, he was an “adviser of advisers”, reviewing thousands of advice files prepared by hundreds of financial advisers, and providing feedback in relation to the quality and appropriateness of advice; industry best practice; risk management; and regulatory compliance. He has published work in industry publications and spoken at various financial advice conferences.

Sonnie has also worked with banks, investment management firms, insurers, and derivatives providers.

Sonnie has worked as a private client lawyer, focusing on succession, estate planning and trusts. He ran his own legal firm in Australia before relocating to New Zealand. He has also acted in independent trustee and company director positions.
