If this blog is your only source of information in relation to wealth and risk management, I’m honoured! But I hope that’s not the case. I encourage everybody to consult a number of sources when it comes to personal finance, or anything for that matter. Promiscuity isn’t always a bad thing!

Some great resources when it comes to personal finance:

    • A Wealth of Common Sense. Ben Carlson is a portfolio manager. When it comes to managing money, he has his head screwed on.
    • Jason Zweig. Zweig is a lauded personal finance journalist. Consider this quote: “My job is to write the exact same thing between 50 and 100 times a year in such a way that neither my editors nor my readers will ever think I am repeating myself. / That’s because good advice rarely changes, while markets change constantly.”
    • Mr Money Mustache. The subheading says it all: “Financial freedom through badassity”. Pete Adeney, aka Mr Money Mustache, is on the far end of the spectrum when it comes to frugality and retiring early. At the very least, his blog is entertaining, insightful, and illustrative of what can be achieved.
    • The White Coat Investor. This blog, which is targeted at doctors and other “white coat” professionals, is published by Jim Dahle, who is himself a doctor. It provides a clear-headed perspective on personal finance for people who don’t need to scratch to make ends meet, but are often vulnerable to making bad money decisions.

If you’re into podcasts, the personal finance podcast that most consistently gets high quality guests and has informative and entertaining interviews is Barry Ritholz’s Masters in Business. You can’t go far wrong if you listen to his interviews with Jack Bogle, Charles D Ellis, Burt Malkiel, and David Booth. (If you don’t know who these people are, these interviews should be compulsory listening!)
